Midnight Coffee, Soda offers sweet refreshment

Those wanting to experience unique Italian Cream or other sodas as well as coffee no longer have to travel to Lubbock to experience them.

Midnight Coffee & Soda, located at 159 S. 9th St. between Tiger Train Fitness and The Slatonite, offers both as well as a quiet location for people to visit, read or do work.

Nicole Soledad, co-owner, said the store was inspired by their love of coffee. “We definitely could use something like that especially when (Humble Grounds) shut down,” she said. “We loved it over there, so we’re like, ‘We need another place like that,’ so that’s why we started dabbling.”

She said when they were planning the store, they wanted to have sodas similar to a soda shack and anything that they could do so people did not have to go to Lubbock to get what they wanted to drink.

The store also offers coffee beverages such as espressos, macchiatos, lattes, anything with mochas, as well as flavored sodas. “We have our favorites but you can always custom and make your own and then we do have Italian sodas as well,” said Soledad.

Even the coffee is from local coffee roasters. Soledad said the store gets their beans from Coffee Wizards, which is located in Post, as well as Daybreak Coffee in Lubbock.
