Ward I runoff election under way, Election Day June 24

Early voting in the runoff for the Ward I commissioner seat has begun.

Polls will be open from  8 a.m.-6 p.m. now through June 20. The General Election will be from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. June 24.

All elections will be conducted at City Hall, 130 S. 9th St.

The election is only for those living in Ward I.  There are two candidates in the race, Tony Newton, who is the incumbent, and challenger Mike Delano.

The May election ended up in a tie, with both candidates receiving 19 votes each. A candidate must have 50 percent plus one vote to win an election..
