SPGS to meet Saturday

South Plains Genealogical Society will host its meeting Saturday (March 8) from 10-11:30 a.m. at the Mahon Library Community Room. This month’s theme is “Faces from the Past: Using Facial Recognition Tools to Identify Your Ancestors” 

The meeting will feature a session on how automatic facial recognition is transforming genealogy research.

Dionne Merriott, from Captured Memories Photo Solutions, will introduce cutting-edge tools like Related Faces, MediaViz AI, and FOREVER’s facial recognition options. Guests will discover how these platforms can help identify long-lost relatives, tag generations of family members and bring clarity to the names and stories in their photo collection.
