The City of Slaton Commissioners approved the second reading of a resolution authorizing the Slaton Economic Development Corporation to undertake a project incentive Monday evening (June 8) during its regular meeting in City Hall.

SEDCO approved a grant April 17, 2025 to give 6H Hargrave Holdings LLC dba Hargrave Manufacturing a project for $50,000. It will be used for building construction and improvement on a building located at 1525 Industrial Drive in Slaton. This grant was originally for $53,000, but was amended to $50,000 with the understanding the original grant was removed.

The Board also approved an agreement with REVIZE for website services and maintenance. City Manager Wade Willson said the current website was at the bare minimum of a site, so he asked Police Administrative Supervisor/Social Media M’Kayla Villarreal to shop around for a new host.

He said the total of the service would be $11,475 to start out and then $2,900 annually for upkeep.

Willson added the site would take nine months to be created and sought to see if they could start it sooner. The company agreed and said it was an up front fee of $2,500 to begin work. He added the remainder would be paid after the budget year.
