Slaton ISD hires new officer

Slaton ISD continues to add security measures to campus, hiring a new police officer with a drug-sniffing dog to fill out the department.

Bobby Dean, a longtime resource officer in Post, was recommended for hire following a closed session of the Slaton ISD board of trustees.

According to Slaton ISD Police Chief James Williams, Dean will bring his personal canine, which has been trained to detect illicit drugs.
