Slaton set for Independence Day celebration

Food, fun and fellowship await Slaton residents on Wednesday (July 4) for the Chamber of Commerce’s annual Fourth of July Celebration.

The event will kick off at 10 a.m. at Slaton Park with a host of vendors and musical entertainment for the whole family.

Different food offerings will be available, with Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church selling tamales and fajitas, while the Knights of Columbus will have pulled pork, corn and taters. Slaton Youth Ironman Football members will prepare a brisket, the Slaton Lions Club will be selling hamburgers and there will be a snow cone stand for those needing a cool treat.
