Slaton native ‘blessed’ to visit Europe

A Slaton resident and her sister recently made their way to Europe to visit family.

Jan Loke Speed and her sister, former Slatonite Teresa Loke Hendrix of Phoenix, Ariz., recently spent two weeks visiting Reisa Hendrix, Teresa’s daughter, who works for the U.S. Department of Defense.

Speed and Hendrix arrived in Hohenecken, Germany, on June 20 and toured a host of historic and unique sights in both Germany and during an overnight trip to Paris.

The sisters visited Tier, the site of an ancient Roman amphitheater and baths, Wiershem and the majestic city of Cochem on the Moselle River with its vineyards.
