City to cite code violators

Despite sending out a yer spelling out minimum appear- ance standards, the city code enforcement o cer is still seeing numerous residences in viola- tion of the property codes.

“You need to make sure your grass is cut and if a vehicle is not running, it needs to be put up where the general public cannot see it,” said code enforcement o cer Brad Murph. “Any rub- bish or trash needs to be picked up and old appliances should be disposed of properly.”

e City of Slaton recently sent out a pamphlet that showed which ordinances address high grass, trash and debris, abandoned and junk vehicles and dangerous or unsecured structures, as well as displaying a visible address.
