Slaton shines at sweltering show
Even with a scorching heat, the 23rd annual Caprock Car Club Classic drew scores of visitors, with more cars regis- tered this year than last.
“It went really good,” said Chamber of Commerce Ex- ecutive Director Leslie Linker. “We had 238 cars, which is up from last year, and a lot of rst- time entries to the show.”
Linker said the car club loves using Slaton for their event.
“ e city welcomes them with open arms,” she said.
at sentiment was echoed by club president Bob Terhune.
“We are really pleased with the turnout,” Terhune said. “With it being 100 plus degrees it really says something about Slaton. It
really is a family environment, and makes this a great event, and not just a car show.”
