Trainers handle bumps, bruises and breaks

While coaches were going over schemes and encouraging players on the field at Tiger Stadium Friday, an integral part of any athletic program was just as busy on the sidelines.

Athletic trainer Rachel Rogers’ team of 11 managers and student trainers kept moving with water bottles and towels, while Rogers taped up a line of players before they took the turf.

Rogers is in her first year as athletic trainer, having graduated in 2017 from Texas Tech University. The Sachse native already has dealt with two broken arms since the beginning of two-a-days.
