Officers rescue family

Slaton law enforcement officers banded together last week to rescue a stranded mother with children who was stuck in a remote area outside the Slaton city limits.

Slaton Police Department received a call last Wednesday regarding a woman who was traveling from the San Antonio area to Longmont, Colo. The woman’s vehicle had become stuck in a bar ditch on Woodrow Road six miles out of town.  The vehicle was buried in the mud following nearly two weeks of rain with her one-year-old and five-year-old in the vehicle.
