SEDCO election will dissolve Type A designation

The Slaton Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) voted Thursday to dissolve the Type A designation and become strictly a Type B corporation, after SEDCO Executive Director Barbara Hopper learned new information about the parameters of integrating both corporations.

“This is going to be a nightmare,” Hopper said about combining the two types of corporation to open the meeting.

Hopper said after consulting Russell Gallahan, the Senior Economic Development Analyst for the Texas State Comptroller, that it would be easier to dissolve the Type A corporation.
