Small Town Christmas on tap for Saturday

Slaton will turn into a winter wonderland Saturday, with the return of Small Town Christmas on the Square.

The event, which is sponsored by the Slaton Economic Development Corporation, will begin at 6 p.m. on the Square.

This year’s festival will include train rides, hay rides and carriage rides on Texas Avenue with free hot cocoa at City Hall.

Centennial Bank will open its community room for those who wish to sit down and eat or just get out of the cold.

Celebrants may walk through the Christmas trees set up by various businesses and organizations and hear musical perfomances from the Slaton ISD choirs, the Slaton ISD bands, Dr. Rebecca Hayes, The Watchmen, The Slaton ISD trio and the Mount Olive Baptist Church Choir.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring back our Small Town Christmas event,” said Slaton Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Leslie Linker.
