Compress Park next project for City of Slaton crews
Weather and a long-term pipeline project delayed the start of work on Slaton’s newest park, but officials say that work will soon begin.
The city broke ground for the new park in November of 2017, and crews have finished surveying the lot and are waiting on finishing touches before moving dirt.
Compress Lake Park, which is funded through a 50/50 grant with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, is a 27-acre site which will feature a fishing lake with two piers, a covered pavilion, a half-mile, Americans with Disabilities Act compliant walkway and a park for younger children.
