Candidates discuss issues before election

Three candidates for mayor were given a series of questions by The Slatonite before the upcoming election.

Incumbent Dubbin Englund and challengers Clifton Shaw and John Gatica are on the ballot. Also on the ballot is Proposition A.

Early voting began Monday and continues through April 30 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. (except April 28, from 1-6 p.m.) Early voting is at several United locations, Lubbock County Elections Office and the Slaton ISD Administration Office, 140 E. Panhandle Ave.

The general election is Saturday May 4 from 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
