Early voting turnout strong, election Saturday

A mayor and decision on a Proposition to  change the Economic Development Corporation from a Type A to Type B will be determined Saturday in the general election.

Incumbent Dubbin Englund and challengers Clifton Shaw and John Gatica are on the ballot for mayor. Also on the ballot is Proposition A, which will determine the if the EDC changes types.

Early voting ended Tuesday. Voting numbers for the City of Slaton were 188, the Town of Ransom County, 185 and Roosevelt ISD, 206.

The general election is Saturday (May 4) from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. at the Slaton ISD Administration Office, 140 E. Panhandle Ave.
