First ever Bacon Fest, Car Show brings awareness to area hunger

Bacon is seen as a versatile word. It can be used for food or as slang in casual phrases.

During the first ever Bacon Fest and Car Show May 11 at Slaton Municipal Airport, the word however also helped make a difference.

Chuck Brown, fundraiser who helped start the project, said the event was to bring awareness to charities who help those fighting hunger.
