Trustees honor nominees for annual awards

The nominees for Slaton Independent School District’s Paraprofessional and Teacher of the Year were announced Wednesday (May 15) at the Administration Office.

Each principal announced their nominee, giving a description as to why they were a finalist for the award.

Nominated for Teacher of the Year are, from Junior High, Amy Reese; Cathelene Thomas Elementary, Margo Lincoln; Stephen F. Austin Primary, Allie Benton; and High School, Louisa Gonzales.

Nominated for Paraprofessional of the Year were Junior High, Morgan Smith; CTE, Cynthia Olivares; SFA Tiffanie Powell and High School, Charlotte Herring.
