Locals honor veterans on Memorial Day

Cemeteries can be a quiet place, with graves of those who fought in wars, from Spanish-American to Civil War, to the wars of the 20th century.

Many are often ignored or not looked at closely to see the person’s date of service, where they served, et cetera.

A group of approximately 12 to 13 volunteers however worked to ensure these veterans’ service and sacrifice to the United States was not forgotten Friday evening (May 24) at the Englewood Cemetery.
