Acting, working with others and playing games are opportunities Slaton kids get the chance to experience as they take part in a local theater program this summer.
The Slaton Summer Stock Theatre is a program that allows kids to learn about theatrics through games and team-building exercises. Children ages 8 to 14 practice a variety of skills during lessons that will be hosted from 9 a.m.-noon on June 17-20 in the Slaton High School Auditorium.
James Villanueva, fine arts director for the Slaton Independent School District, said participants learn different aspects of performing arts.
