Student support systems, academic progress and Board positions all were topics discussed during a Slaton Independent School District Board of Trustees meeting Tuesday (June 11).
The Board convened for a regular meeting that took place in the Slaton Administration Office, 140 E. Panhandle St.
During the meeting, Kara Newcomb and Justin Martin were sworn in and will serve as at-large trustees.
Carlos Bentancourt, Board of Trustees president, congratulated Newcomb and Martin for their positions.
“As I always say, congratulations, you have just adopted over 1,300 kids,” Bentancourt said.
