Clean-up work begins after fire

Workers with the City of Slaton began demolishing the remains of Klemke’s Sausage Haus and Antique Store as well as Slaton Family Medical Clinic June 21. The businesses were destroyed by fire June 15.

Work continues as the workers sort and remove debris, which will open up the alley for Atmos Energy to restore gas to local businesses.
