A recent Slaton High graduate and FFA student has been elected to a prestigious state honor.

Wyatt Harlan, the son of George and Lezlee Harlan, was named Area I State Vice President during the State FFA Convention this past week.

He is one of 12 students, all of whom graduated in May, selected. Harlan will represent Texas FFA in the fall.

Harlan is the first-ever Slaton FFA member to be elected to State office, and Slaton FFA teacher Blake Vineyard couldn’t be any happier of Harlan.

“Wyatt has been working all summer dedicating over 130 hours to represent Slaton and Area I FFA at the highest level,” Vineyard said.
