Wreck knocks down 7 utility poles

Workers with the Texas Department of Transportation and Slaton Volunteer Fire Department work the scene of an accident involving a semi truck Tuesday afternoon (July 30) on N. 9th St. from Dawson Street to Industrial Road. The semi truck had caught a line and knocked down seven telephone poles on to 9th Street.  The roads were blocked off in that area until the poles could be cleared. (Slatonite photo/Melissa McCaghren)
