SHS alumnus returns to visit football team

The Slaton High School Football team received a surprise Thursday morning (Aug. 15) when alum Brandon Sokora came to speak to them during their practice.

Sokora, a 1996 graduate of Slaton High School, also played football for the Air Force Academy.

He is still serving in the Air Force.

“I was honored to have the  opportunity to come back to the Slaton Tigers and share my experiences with them and tell them their opportunities are limitless,” said Sokora. “Slaton High School can open the door for them as it did for me.”

After his visit, Coach Jeff Caffey presented Sokora with dirt from the old football field.
