Murphy resigns as SHS principal

Slaton High School Principal Shaye Murphy announced his resignation late Tuesday afternoon (Sept. 3).

In remarks he made to the faculty and released by the high school in school reminders, he said “I have decided to take advantage of an opportunity given to me elsewhere.”

The school wished him the best as he moved forward in his professional career.

It was also announced Tiffany Potts has been named the new principal at Slaton High School.

“Mrs. Potts will continue the traditions of excellence we have come to cherish,” said the school in the release.

“She will serve in a dual role, continuing with her coaching duties through the end of the year.”
