City approves 2019-20 tax rate, budget

The City of Slaton approved the tax rate and budget for the 2019-20 year Monday evening (Sept. 9) at City Hall.

The budget includes an interest and sinking fund of $484,552, general fund of $4,047,382, a water and sewer budget of $1,956,500 and $198,200 for the cemetery.

The adopted budget will begin Oct. 1, and end Sept. 30, 2020.

The tax rate for the 2019-20 has been set at a rate of $0.650256 per $100 value of property.

The amount is divided into interest and sinking fund at $0.224635, cemetery fund at $0.05 and general fund at $0.425921.
