The 2019 Slaton homecoming king is…

Shaun Smith was crowned the 2019 Homecoming King during the community pep rally Wednesday (Sept. 4) at Tiger Stadium. 

He was surprised to receive the honor. “(It’s) completely unexpected. Thank you to the band for that,” he said, humbly accepting his win as “just a guy wearing a silly crown.” 

He looked at the bigger honor as well. “I’m grateful to everyone I’ve been with throughout my 12 years of schooling.”
