School board approves HS staff changes

The Slaton Board of Education accepted the resignation of former Slaton High School Principal Shaye Murphy as well as accepted an administrator probationary contract for Tiffany Potts Tuesday (Sept. 10) during a regular board meeting.

The board went into closed session to discuss employment issues. Murphy announced his resignation Sept. 3 to take a position in Seminole ISD as a coordinator. He recently pursued his superintendent certification and recently accepted the job. The resignation was effective Sept. 6.

Potts was named the new principal shortly afterward, and her probationary contract was effective Sept. 3.
