Man arrested for drug possession

A Slaton man was arrested on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, penalty group one, between one and four grams.

Slaton Chief of Police Trevor Barnes said David Lamont Busby, 45, was arrested Oct. 7..

He said a call had come in at 12:17 a.m. 500 block of W. Crosby St  with a report someone trying to breaking into a house from the front and back.

Officers met with the complainant when Officer Joseph Kibitlewski observed a suspect leaving the scene on a bicycle.

The suspect then got off the bike and ran on foot, where a short foot pursuit ensued and he was arrested.

Busby was taken to Lubbock County Jail, where he has since been released.
