SEDCO discusses delay in transition, potential businesses coming to town

The Slaton Economic Development Corporation found they have hit a slight stall in their transition to a Type B Corporation Thursday (Oct. 17) during its monthly meeting.

Barbara Hopper, executive director, said the change over could be delayed until the first of the year. “There’s a possibility because of the fact the certificate of formation, that was done at city council, the lawyer did not get three copies of it originally, didn’t get any copies of the certificate of formation,” she said.

“The lawyer never even mentioned it until last week. So that pushes everything, anything for October will have to begin in December, but it might be going into December.”
