The Slaton High School gymnasium was adorned with pink balloons, ribbons on the floor and shirts as they celebrated a Pink Out pep rally Friday afternoon (Oct. 18).
Members of the Slaton High School football team escorted cancer survivors to seats of honor on the gym floor before taking their own.
The Cheerleaders and Color Guard presented a special routine as special guest and cancer survivor Erin Davis sang the song “I Believe.”
Superintendent Dr. Julee Broscoff gave the pep rally speech, talking about the importance of the day. She added Friday had marked seven years to the day she had surgery for breast cancer. Survivors also received a cupcake.
