Haynes sworn in as Commissioner Ward IV

Charlie C. Haynes Jr. was sworn in as Commissioner Ward IV Monday evening (Nov. 18) during the City of Slaton Council’s monthly meeting.

City Secretary Pam King read the canvassing of the votes. Haynes received 45 votes, Terry Reeves 34 votes and Vernon Steese 7.

She then swore in Haynes to the position.

He thanked his church, pastor, family and those who came to support him during the ceremony.
