Groups to host New Year’s celebrations

The Slaton Harvey House will host a New Year’s Day black-eyed peas and cornbread fundraiser Jan. 1.

Black-eyed peas, cornbread and desserts will be served. Donations are accepted for the meal. The Slaton Harvey House is located at 400 Railroad Ave.

Ransom Canyon will also have a New Year’s Eve celebration Dec. 31 from 8 p.m.-midnight at the Ransom Canyon Ranch House.

Guests can dance to the tunes of the Local Nobodys and cornbread and black-eyed peas will be served at midnight. Tickets are $30 per person or $50 per couple. A table for eight is $200 and for more information call 789-1677.
