Chamber accepting award nominations for annual banquet

The Slaton Chamber of Commerce is again accepting nominations for its annual awards banquet, which will be conducted Feb. 24.

Nominations are sought for Man of the Year, Woman of the Year and Boss of the Year.

This is an opportunity to recognize those who have contributed to the City of Slaton during the year.

Those interested in nominating someone can send it by mail to P.O. Box 400, Slaton, TX 79364.

Entries may also be e-mailed to slaton.coc@sbcglobal.net.

The deadline for nominations is Jan. 31, and the recipients will be announced at the annual banquet.

Last year’s honorees were Woman of the Year, Sandra Jones; Man of the Year, Larry Neal; Volunteer of the Year, Chris Downer and Boss of the Year, Linda Koonsman.

Mary Jane Gaydos was the final Chamber Women’s Division Member of the Year. The division disbanded later in the year.
