Family Reading Night helps get everyone to work together to improve education

Reading can be seen as fundamental, but boring, to some students.

Cathelene Thomas Elementary worked to change that with their annual Family Reading Night Thursday evening (Feb. 27).

Principal Sammi Johnson said the program was created to help students learn by getting their families involved in their learning. “When parents are involved, students are more successful.  It helps give parents ideas on activities they can do at home to help their children have a love of reading,” she said. “That is our goal—to help students have a love of learning.”
