Slaton ISD seeks input on search for new superintendent
The Slaton Independent School District Board of Trustees is asking for the help of the public on the search for a new superintendent.
The Slaton ISD Board of Trustees, through the Superintendent’s website, texasisd.com, announced the vacancy for the Superintendent’s position.
Dr. Julee Broscoff announced her retirement in December, finishing her tenure in January.
Gary Harrell was hired to be the interim superintendent until the position is filled. They are hoping to fill the position by the end of the year.
When the lone finalist is selected, they will be announced in The Slatonite and by law will wait 21 days until they can be officially hired.
The board is now asking for input from the school staff, parents, and community members as to what characteristics they would like to see in the new superintendent of schools.
There are two ways to give input to help with their decision.
The first way is to participate in a Superintendent Profile Survey.
Those who are interested can find links to that survey both on the school website, www.slatonisd.net, or the Slaton ISD Facebook page.
The second way to give input is by attending the March 10 regular school board meeting at 7 p.m., and signing up to give input directly to the Board during Open Forum during public forum.
The Board of Trustees said they are dedicated to finding the very best qualified individual possible to lead this District into the future.
