The Slaton Economic Development Foundation had a light meeting Thursday (March 12), discussing several short topics.

Barbara Hopper, Executive Director, had members sign new confidentiality agreements. These agreements were then put in their actual folders, and is done to ensure that discussions regarding potential businesses remain confidential.

The board also discussed the TEDC Economic Development Sales Tax Workshop, which will be conducted in Lubbock Aug. 28.

Hopper said she needed to know who could attend for registration as she couldn’t register them online. Topics that will be discussed include topics such as the State Comptroller’s report, ethics in economic development meetings and public information and economic development for small A and B corporations, and legislative updates.
