The Slaton Police Department worked a joint operation in the area March 10-11, culminating in the arrest of 17 people.
They teamed up with the Texas Department of Public Safety Patrol Division, DPS criminal Investigation Division and the South Plains Auto Task Force to complete the operation.
Chief of Police Trevor Barnes said during two 12 hour shifts, a total of 24 hours, the group’s efforts helped carry out multiple traffic stops – on vehicle and foot – and searched several houses.
In the end, Barnes reported 17 people were arrested, narcotics seized, and a stolen trailer and motorcycle were recovered.
