Candlelight Good Friday, Easter events this week

First United Methodist Church is promoting a social distancing observance of Good Friday in Slaton this week. They are suggesting that at 8:15 p.m. Friday people come out to the curb in front of their houses and light a candle.  While it is not a local service, it is hoped this can be done in solidarity with neighbors and the wider community as all light candles in remembrance of Jesus’ gift for everyone.

The community is also encouraged to put out Easter egg displays in their front yards to let families drive by and have a drive-by egg hunt. There will be no community egg hunts this year due to the Coronavirus.
