The Slaton Independent School District Board of Trustees interviewed the superintendent candidate finalists for the next Superintendent Tuesday (April 21) during a special meeting at the administration office.

The lone finalist is Jim Andrus, who is currently assistant superintendent for Slaton ISD.

A full story will be in next weeks’ edition, along with a bio and photo of the finalist.

Once the lone finalist is selected, the board must wait 21 days before it can take official action to employ the individual.

The new superintendent will fill the position vacated by Julee Broscoff, who announced her retirement Dec. 12, 2019.

Gary Harrell has been Interim Superintendent since then, beginning his duties Feb. 1 and fulfilling the responsibilities of superintendent for the rest of the current school year.
