Haynes, who was elected to fill the unexpired term of James A. “Buster” Tucker last year, ran unopposed after a second candidate who filed dropped out of the election.

Secretary Pam King swore in Haynes for a full term.

Council also approved letting the Declaration of Disaster to start expiring.

City Administrator Mike Lamberson reported the City’s lobby has reopened and will be open from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. in the front part, and the judge’s office Mondays from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. “We still have no public restroom, open to the public or anybody, we’re still not letting anybody in the secure area in the back,” he said, adding that the drive up window will remain open at its usual times, from 7:30 a.m.-5:30 p.m.
