Trustees approve resignation, contracts
The Slaton Independent School District Board of Trustees had a busy session Tuesday (June 9) during its regular monthly meeting.
The Board convened in executive session under several provisions of the Texas Government code regarding approval of personnel employment, assignments, suspensions and resignations at 7:47 p.m.
They reconvened in open session nearly an hour later.
The board approved the resignation of Place 2 Board member Kristal Garcia. The motion was not unanimous, with Kara Newcomb and Justin Martin voting against. Garcia abstained. President Carlos Bentancourt read the board vacancy announcement to the trustees.
