SISD Trustees approve proposed tax rates for year

The Slaton Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a proposed tax rate for the 2020-21 year Tuesday evening (Aug. 11) during  a regular monthly meeting.

It was one of several items the Board had to approve for the upcoming school year.

The proposed rate is $1.0082 for maintenance and operations, while $0.3541 is set for interest and sinking per $100 valuation.

They also set a public hearing for comments and input Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. in the Board Room of the Administration Building.
