Trustees approve gym floor repairs

The Slaton Independent School District Board of Trustees approved a bid from ARBO’s Floor Service to do work on the High School gym floor Friday afternoon (Sept. 18) during a special meeting at the Administration Building.

Board President Carlos Bentancourt called the meeting into order and board members approved the bid for $110,799.98.

Superintendent Jim Andrus said the funds for the gym floor were already approved as a line item for the 2020-21 budget.

He added the vendor was on Buy Board so there was no bidding required for the project; however, because the cost of the project was more than $25,000, the board had to approve the project.

The project was approved unanimously.
