Halloween events to offer cheer in pandemic

Those who wish to celebrate Halloween – and safely, will have several opportunities during and on Halloween week.

The largest Halloween celebration will be the Chamber of Commerce’s Trunk-or-Treat event, which will be Saturday (Oct. 31) from 5-6 p.m. on the Downtown Square.

There will be local businesses, churches and organizations out along the square and down Texas Avenue handing out treats to kids in a fun and safe environment. For more information, call the chamber at 828-6238 or email [email protected]

The Slaton City Library will have Storytime with Sandra Thomas at 2:30 p.m. Saturday. There will also be take-n-make projects available. Not so scary costumes are asked.

Humble Grounds will have facepainting and play the movie “Coco” at the store to encourage people to drop off photos and descriptions of their loved ones for Day of the Dead Celebrations. Pretty Please Salon will also hand out treats at Trunk or Treat.
