Cross Country season ends at Regionals

The Slaton and Roosevelt High School cross country teams competed in the Regional Cross Country meet Monday afternoon (Nov. 9) at Mae Simmons Park.
While no one advanced to State this year, both schools celebrated accomplishemnts made by their runners throughout the COVID-altered season.
For Slaton, Mary Jo Parker finished 30th with a time of 14:11.
On the boys qualifying team, Elijah Culver placed 62nd (20:00), Isaiah Chapa 112nd (22:08), Anguel Lopez 127th (23:48), and Eli Gonzales 136th (27:29).
Roosevelt’s lone runner, Kassadi Benavides, finished 68th with a time of 14:55.
