Caroling on the square still a go for Dec. 16

The Slaton Chamber of Commerce’s Caroling on the Square is still on for Wednesday (Dec. 16) at the Slaton Town Square at 6:30 p.m.

The event will be in front of Happy State Bank, which will feature a stage and screen to show off the carols.

The event will be a park and caroling event, featuring a collection of Christmas merriment and songs.

Guests are invited to bring their family and enjoy the Christmas trees and carols that will be presented.

Everyone is asked to bring lawn chairs or stay in their car and listen. Bundling up is encouraged.

The event is hosted by the Chamber, Slaton Independent School District, Xcel Energy, Slaton Economic Development Corporation and the Ministerial Alliance.

The event was announced a week after Small Town Christmas was canceled due to a spike in COVID cases both in the City and Lubbock County.

The event is free.

(Editor’s note, this event is as of press time Tuesday, Dec. 8. Any additions, changes or cancellation will be published online on The Slatonite Facebook page, Slatonite.)
