SHS Basketball seniors honored for years on team

Twelve Slaton High School senior basketball players, nine on the girls team and three on the boys team, were recognized  Friday evening (Dec. 11) before the teams played Sundown.

Tigerette seniors are Mary Jo Parker, Emalisa Muniz, Andrea Moreno, Chloe Griffith, Layni Claborn, Ti’Alice Young, Clarissa Perales, Justyne Zapata, Natali Soto and manager Isabella Botello.

Tiger seniors are Hudson Sackett, Camryn Nalley and Alizae Mendez.

Girls Head Coach Tiffany Potts said that she was thankful for her group of seniors who started with Potts her first year as freshmen. “They are my first group to coach throughout their high school career,” she said.

Boys Head Coach Stacey Godfrey also had nothing but good things to say about the three seniors. “We had three seniors that has stuck it out all four years and has improve their game on and off the court. I believe the game of basketball will benefit these young men when they get out in the real world,” he said.
