The annual Slaton Stock Show will be conducted Saturday (Jan. 2), starting at 10 a.m. at the Show Barn on 20th St. by the baseball field.

Casey Jones, assistant and FFA adviser said students have been working hard on their swine, goat, lamb, steer and beef heifer projects.

“The kids have spent numerous hours with their animals performing tasks such as feeding, watering, cleaning pens, training, exercising and taking care of all their basic health care needs,” he said. “This event allows the public to see all of those hours of hard work come to fruition to where the kids get to exhibit the livestock projects they have raised.”

The show isn’t just for students to show off their hard work to family, friends and the public.

It’s also good training.
